Every now and then, my mind will fixate on a song. Any song I like a lot. And I will listen to that song, and only that one song for two, three or four days. At the moment, it’s ’Everybody’s Fool’ by the band Evanescence.

I have always been this way, to the irritation of those around me. It’s one of my quirks and over the last few years, I’ve figured out that the repetition is comfort-seeking behaviour that I subconsciously turn to in times of stress. I wonder, though, if it’s also a form of obsessive compulsive behaviour.
